3d logo design - illustrator - Claim boarding

The design for the Claim Boarding logo is fairly simple, the punched hand in the air would be the rider "claiming" a trick once they have landed it. They specialise in Boarding clothing and so that is the clothes on the silhouette.
What I have done here is taken the standard logo and transformed it into a 3d design, for this I used illustrator and it's 3d extrude and bevel function.

You have to be careful not to rotate the design too much when there is a lot of the detail close together as it becomes less defined the further you go.

Once created it is possible to then colour the edges, this will help the cut out section stand out. Here I have used a light grey which gives a chrome effect.

Adding a background such as the blue I have used works well as it allows the show to form on the colour and give the appearance of a wall.
